Below please find our High Holy Days calendar of events and below that, you will find registration and other information regarding these events.

 

High Holy Days 2023/5784 Schedule

Please note: Hybrid = In-person and Zoom/YouTube and all services are at TES unless otherwise noted.

Erev Rosh HaShanah/Shabbat: Friday, 9/15 at 7 pm (Hybrid)

Rosh HaShanah Day 1/Shabbat: Saturday, 9/16 at 9:30 am (Hybrid)

Tashlich immediately after (In-person ONLY, meet behind Lithia Park Bandshell)

Rosh HaShanah Day 2 with Shofar Service: Sunday, 9/17 at 9:30 am (In-Person ONLY and outside – weather-permitting)

Joint Shabbat Shuvah Service with Havurah Shir Hadash: Saturday, 9/23 t 10am at 185 N Mountain Ave, Ashland (Hybrid with special Zoom link)  To attend in-person services, registration is required.

Kol Nidre: Sunday, 9/24 at 7 pm (Hybrid)

Monday, 9/25 at 9:30 am  Yom Kippur Day (Hybrid)

1:30 – 3:00 pm             Forest Bathing with Sari Telpner, Lithia Park (Click here for info)

2:30 – 3:00 pm                   Meditation in Art room with Sascha Meier (In-person ONLY)

Break the Fast meal after Havdallah: Monday, 9/25 at sunset (In-person ONLY, registration required, donation requested for catered meal.)

Sukkah decorating: Wednesday, 9/27 at 4 pm (In-person ONLY)

Erev Sukkot/Shabbat potluck dinner and songs in the Sukkah: Friday, 9/29 at 5:30 pm (In-person ONLY)

Shabbat/Sukkot Service honoring long-time and founding TES members Saturday, 9/30 at 10 am  (Hybrid)  

Sukkot and Dessert potluck (with Havurah Shir Hadash), in the TES Sukkah: Tuesday, 10/3 at 7 pm (In-person ONLY)

Shmini Atzeret/Yizkor/Shabbat/Dedication of Jewish Family Resource Center with catered, special Oneg (registration required, donation requested for catered meal): Saturday, 10/7 at 10 am (Hybrid)

Simchat Torah Celebration and Non-Meat Dinner potluck: Saturday, 10/7, 5:30 pm (In-person ONLY)

                                                                 


Additional Information

Yom Kippur Afternoon Forest Bathing with Sari Telpner  Lithia Park, Monday 9/25, 1:30-3pm

Please join TES member and Certified Forest Therapy Guide, Sari Telpner of Wild Wellness Guide, for a Yom Kippur Forest Bathing Experience. (more information can be found in our mailings or on the TES website: emekshalom.org. Spaces are limited. Pre-register with Sari to hold your place and receive all the details including our meeting site at Lithia Park.  To contact Sari: sari@wildwellnessguide.com or call 541-482-4095 with any questions. This practice involves slow walking/movement, stopping, standing in place and sometimes sitting on the ground, large rocks or benches if they are available.  Please let Sari know if you have questions regarding your abilities in terms of being able to participate.

 

High Holy Day Services Registration for 2023/5784: Only NON-TES members need to register in advance to attend any/all of the services as well as the Yom Kippur Break the Fast.

 

Yizkor List: If you wish to add names to the Yizkor list, please contact Sara in the office or fill out this form.  If you have previously added names to the Yizkor list, you do not need to add them again.  Traditionally, a donation is still given which can be done at the bottom of this form.  If you have new people to add, please do so by using the same form.

 

Break the Fast Meal Registration 9/25/23: This year, TES members are ONLY required to register in advance for the catered Yom Kippur Break the Fast meal.

 

Shabbat/Shmini Atzeret/JFRC Dedication Luncheon Registration 10/7/23: We ask that you register in advance for the catered luncheon so we can know how many to expect.
