Please join us for a very special weekend in preparation for the Festival of Shavuot!  We are so excited to be having two scholars-in-residence, Rabbi Linda Motzkin and Rabbi Jonathan Rubenstein bring us “Bread and Torah” to brighten our Shabbat and Shavuot experiences.

Their website says:

“Affirming the importance of both spiritual and physical sustenance in Jewish life, Bread and Torah Programs are creative, hands-on learning experiences that combine traditional Jewish scribal arts and bread making with Jewish spiritual teachings and practices”

“Seven Species” bread baking workshop. We’ll make this special challah for the participants to bring home as well as for the Shabbat oneg. We will learn with Rabbi Jonathan about the tradition of the Seven Species and its connection to Shavuot, about the mitzvah of hafrashat challah (separating out a small piece of challah from the dough), and about the connection of these practices to Jewish values.
