COME JOIN TEMPLE EMEK SHALOM AT JUNETEENTH!
Are you saddened, upset and frustrated by the recent shootings in Buffalo and elsewhere across the United States last week??? Do you want to do do something to show your support for Black people and other minorities and people of color??? Then come and join TES at Juneteenth on Sunday, June 19, 11AM–7PM at Pear Blossom Park, 312 E 4th St, Medford as we are hosted by the Black community here in Jackson County under the auspices of BASE (Black Alliance for Social Empowerment). It is a unique opportunity for us to show up, as a Jewish Community, in support of our Black neighbors. The music and food will be great. The hand of friendship is reaching out. We will have a booth, a place to gather and reach out in solidarity and support.
Whether or not you have participated in any of the racial justice activities at Emek Shalom, please sign up for two-hour shifts to help staff our booth (we will need at least two people for each shift), and assist with set up and/or tear down of the booth. Keeping in mind our commitment to climate change, we will also need someone to help organize car pools to Medford. And even if you don’t want to be responsible for a shift at our booth – PLEASE, PLEASE come out and join us. It is easy to sign up by clicking here .
If you have trouble with the online sign-up system, you can also contact Kathy at  office@emekshalom.org with what you would like to do to help make our presence a robust reality.
