The High Holidays are coming, and soon we will be sitting in Shul. Sunday, August 24, is Rosh Hodesh (the beginning of the month) of Elul. It is when traditionally we are supposed to start our tune-up preparation for the High Holidays. So, there couldn’t be a better day to have one stand-alone class, offered live and in person only, to talk about, you guessed it, prayer. This class will study the reasons for prayer as explained and amplified by our sages, both ancient and current. It is geared towards adults only and will be very interactive.
If your reaction to this announcement is “This class isn’t for me because I don’t pray, and/or I don’t believe in G-D, and/or I see no purpose sitting in synagogue and pretending to be spiritual”, then this class is in fact exactly right for you. It may help you deepen your appreciation of the High Holidays and give you a different view of prayer.
