The Sound Of All Of Us:
Bringing our community together through music and performance
Sunday, April 26, 2:00 – 4:00 pm
We hope you will join us for an enriching, community-filled afternoon of music and theater:
Experience the power of bringing our voices together with a sing along led by Dave Young and Dennis Freese. Come prepared to sing all together!
Ashland Shakespeare Festival perfomer, Hollywood actor and longtime TES member Tony Heald will preview Jacob II. The “Jacob Saga, Part Two”, a continuation of “The Jacob Saga, Part One” which Tony performed at TES in February, 2020, tells the story of Jacob from the Book of Genesis, as he leaves his uncle Laban’s in Harran with his wives and children and slaves and livestock, and returns to his homeland in Canaan. It includes his nighttime struggle with the Angel, his reunion with his brother Esau, the rape of his daughter Dinah in Shechem and the destruction of Shechem in revenge by his sons, and the death of his beloved Rachel as she gives birth to Joseph. The performance will be enhanced by original music by Dennis Freese, and artwork from R Crumb’s graphic novel of Genesis.
Snacks and treats will be generously provided by our Social Committee.
We invite a suggested donation of $18 to Temple Emek Shalom’s Shul School Scholarship Fund, supporting Jewish learning and the future of Judaism for TES member families — l’dor vador, from generation to generation.
