We are delighted to have Sara Nesson join us again, this time during the week of Passover, for her newest monologue, Body of Water, a chronology of love, loss, and reconciliation that follows the journey of a landlocked distance swimmer struggling to find her way home. Set on the rugged coastline of Northern California, the 25-minute monologue weaves lyric storytelling, myth, and Jewish text. Playful and poignant, it is an homage to Sara’s aquatic nature, her passion for the wilderness, and a life altered by chronic illness. Sara’s performance will be accompanied by a conversation about longing, loss, hope, and healing—an opportunity to consider how facing life’s limitations can lead us from exile to redemption. Sara Nesson is a California artist, writer, and performer who has been crafting original theater for twenty-five years. She has worked with A Traveling Jewish Theatre, mentored Jewish teenagers, and led high holy day rituals in nature. She has been touring as an online storyteller since 2021 and facilitates a group for artists living with chronic illness. On Zoom only, email for link. |
